BC Update: No. 78 - Proposed amendments to the Compliance Documents for ventilation

25 January 2008: The Department has gazetted a proposed change to the Compliance Document for Building Code Clauses G4 Ventilation.

The Department consulted on proposed amendments to Compliance Document G4 in April 2007.  The proposal to reference the Standard BS 5588-9: 1999 Fire precautions in the design, construction and use of buildings – Part 9: Code or practice for ventilation and air conditioning ductwork is additional to the material already consulted on.

BS 5588 -9 is available for inspection free of charge at the Departments’ national office, level 6, 86 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday, until the closing date for comment, 14 February 2008.  BS 5588-9 may also be purchased from Standards New Zealand at www.standards.co.nz
