Assessor, National Multiple-Use Approvals Service

This role has been re-advertised to increase the pool of qualified applicants.

The Department of Building and Housing is establishing a new service to achieve time efficiencies and cost-savings to ‘volume builders’, where their standardised building designs are replicated several times.

The National Multiple-Use Approvals (NMUA) service will provide volume builders with ‘pre-approval’ for Building Code compliance, through assessing their designs against the Building Code and creating a seamless service between these national approvals and local consenting processes. The Assessor is one of the three key roles in the team.

Ideally, you will have extensive experience in the regulatory building control industry, and will be adept at assessing building designs and plans against all relevant Compliance Documents, making technically robust decisions.

Your judgement and decisions will minimise risks to consumers and the Crown, while increasing industry efficiencies and cost savings. In this new job, you will also be managing relationships with key customers, ensuring process improvements, and achieving the outcomes of the NMUA scheme.

In return, you will have the satisfaction of directly contributing to the success of a new venture designed to add value to the building industry. There is plenty of opportunity for personal development in this role, especially in respect of customer and stakeholder relationships and improving scheme performance.
